She was admitted to the practice of law in the State of California in 2012, and recently passed the 2017 Legal Specialization Examination in the area of family law. Tyrrell is presently working toward her certification as a Family Law Certified Specialist.
As an Iowa native, Tyrrell was raised with midwestern values including hard work and the importance of a strong work ethic. This adage became her regular practice in every avenue she pursued. By the time she reached college, Tyrrell achieved a high level of performance and academic skill that led to her graduating, cum laude, 6 months before the rest of her class while competing as a college athlete. Tyrrell’s diligence and internal motivation to succeed in every endeavor she embarks holds true today, particularly in her practice of family law.
Tyrrell brings to her clients’ cases a strong work ethic and is devoted to educating and engaging her clients in the complexities of the family law arena, helping her clients understand their rights and responsibilities, the law as it applies to them and the specific facts of their case, and what to expect during any court proceedings. In doing so, clients are in a better position to maintain realistic expectations throughout the process and feel better prepared to make decisions regarding their family.
With a background in piano performance and participation in college sports, Tyrrell knows what it’s like to be a part of a team and to work tirelessly and relentlessly to achieve goals.
Now, as a litigator, Tyrrell has the inner fortitude to listen, engage, and respond to adversity with calmness and self-assuredness when faced with high pressure conflict in the family law courtroom. With a background rooted in a family-owned business, she understands the hard work and sacrifice business owners often make for the sake of their business, and is proficient in complex litigation and the use of experts and forensic accountants to validate, assess, and establish reasonable compensation in conjunction with valuating and dividing assets.
Prior to joining the Simpson Law Group, Tyrrell worked for a family law firm in Westlake Village where she was exposed to all aspects of family law, including the preparation of legal documents, strategizing cases, negotiating matters to complete resolution, and navigating through complicated and challenging legal issues. Realizing that this field of law significantly impacts the lives of her clients, she decided to devote her entire legal practice to family law.
Tyrrell earned a nomination for the San Fernando Valley Business Journal’s 2014 “Women in Business Award”, and was named a “Top Attorney” by Pasadena Magazine for the year 2017 – 2018.
When she isn’t working, Tyrrell takes time to support her favorite charity, the ASPCA. She enjoys travel, attending musical concerts and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
